Symonds Yat Photography Walk
Sunday 6th June 2021

Circumstances prevented many people attending the proposed walk, starting at Symonds Yat Rock on Sunday 6th June, however, three people braved the Worcestershire rain and arrived in Gloucestershire to amazing sunshine!

Naturally, a sunny summer Sunday brought out the crowds, but photographs were made and bacon butties eaten.  A similar event will be held later in the year, watch this space!

Upton on Severn Photography Walk
Tuesday, 18th May 2021

Another success under BPC's belt when a dozen or so members met up at Upton on Severn and took a gentle, early evening stroll taking in the delights of this picturesque riverside town.

Many thanks to everyone who contributes photographs to our gallery page.

An autumn day at Arley

1st November saw a dozen or more socially distanced BPC members checking out the wonderful colour and shape at Arley Gardens and Arboretum.  The site isn't huge but what it lacks in size it most certainly makes up for in style.  We weren't blessed with the best of light, but, as always, we did what we could with what was available and here are a few of the results!

Don't let it get you down!

It goes without saying that Coronavirus has brought almost every single photography jaunt to a complete standstill.  Landscape, weddings, portraits, street, just about everything we have always taken for granted is gone, at least in the short-term.

However, for anyone with time on their hands why not set up your own little studio: dining room, garage, shed, even the bathroom, any small space with a bit of natural light can be turned into a make-shift studio and there are loads of videos on YouTube to show us how to hone our skills on macro/close up photography and lighting techniques.

Did you know that BPC now has a WhatsApp group?  It's exclusive to members and all sorts of photo related conversations are being enjoyed and we get to see images that other members have made either before C-19 hit or since we've become more inventive in our art!

If you would like to join the WhatsApp group, email your preferred mobile phone number to birlinghamphoto@btinternet.com

Here are a few images of what can be achieved at home with a few bits and pieces and a spare couple of hours.

This gallery page is open to any BPC member who would like their work uploaded, please send to birlinghamphoto@btinternet.com

Back to Basics Photography workshop - January

2020 kicked off to a great start with 10 delegates attending the Angela Fitch Photography B2B workshop, which covered the basic concepts on the 'Exposure Triangle'.  The theory session was followed with an hour of practical to put the triangle and the photographers to the test.

Many thanks to Sue Allen for her still life images below.

River Avon at Evesham
Dawn Photo Walk, Saturday 28th September

The weather was dry and mild and although the golden hour could have been better the handful of BPC Members who got up at silly o'clock to capture the River Avon at Hampton Ferry as the sun rose over the Vale of Evesham were rewarded with some stunning reflections.

Many thanks to Kevin for the following...
